Biography of Manfred Lenz
Manfred Lenz was born on 08.11.1947 in Großräschen-Süd (Brandenburg state). After graduating with a vocational training as an electrician at the extended secondary school "Walther Rathenau" in Senftenberg, he studied electrical engineering in Senftenberg and power electronics at the Technical University in Dresden. After completing his studies, he worked for Märkische Faser AG in Premnitz. From 1991 - 1999 he was head of department at the Economic Development Office of Havelland. In 1990 he joined the SPD and was from 1991 - 2004 local club chairman in Rathenow. Since 1993 he is the leader of the SPD of the city council in Rathenow. In 1999 he was elected to the Brandenburg State Parliament and held this function until 2004. Since 2005 he is working as a team leader in the Integration and Performance Center Rathenow. He is an advisor to the Technical Relief Agency (THW) after many years as chairman and the THW in Rathenow. Since 01.05.2001 he is a member of the circle for the reconstruction of St. Mary's Andrew Church in Rathenow e.V. He is married to Gabriele Lenz and has a daughter.
